BEYONCÉ Wins ALBUM OF THE YEAR For ‘COWBOY CARTER’ | 2025 GRAMMYs Acceptance Speech

At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards held on February 2, 2025, Beyoncé achieved a historic milestone by winning the Album of the Year award for her country-inspired album, “Cowboy Carter.” This marks her first win in this prestigious category, despite her extensive Grammy history with 35 wins and 99 nominations.

During her acceptance speech, Beyoncé was joined on stage by her daughter, Blue Ivy. She dedicated the award to Linda Martell, the first Black female country singer, who collaborated on the album. Members of the Los Angeles Fire Department presented the award, acknowledging the heroes who tackled recent wildfires.

“Cowboy Carter” is Beyoncé’s eighth studio album, released on March 29, 2024. The album blends various Southern sub-genres, including country, Americana, zydeco, rock and roll, folk, rhythm and blues, pop, psychedelic soul, hip-hop, and bluegrass. It features collaborations with artists such as Dolly Parton, Linda Martell, Willie Nelson, and Miley Cyrus.

In addition to Album of the Year, Beyoncé also won Best Country Album for “Cowboy Carter,” becoming the first Black woman to win this award.

This achievement makes Beyoncé only the fourth Black woman to win Album of the Year, following Lauryn Hill’s win in 1999.
